Job Description

Drug Authorization Specialist. The following is required.

• Knowledge of retina authorizations for drugs and laser treatments.
• Knowledge of medical insurances, policies, and protocols.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits.
• Ability to understand insurance claims (Explanation of Benefits).
• Knowledge of retina/ophthalmology terminology as it pertains to drug/laser authorizations.
• Experience speaking to insurance companies and obtaining authorizations.
• Able to multi-task and work on multiple tasks at the same time.
• Must be a team player
• Patient facing capabilities will interact with patients as well.

Experience using portals such as NaviNet, Availity, UHC Link, WellCare, and Emblem

Location: Suffern, NY (exact address to come)
Days: Monday through Friday in office
Hours: 9am-5-5:30 / 8:30am-5pm flexible can do either if standard 8 to 8.5 hours worked
