General Maintenance/Facilities Services company located in Central New Jersey seeks full-time commercial mobile technician to service commercial, medical, industrial, residential, educational and retail properties throughout state of New Jersey. The right candidate will have potential to grow into lead or roving technician manager.

This position reports directly to the client representative to receive specific instructions regarding various general building maintenance requests, inspections, periodic repairs and scheduled visits to locations to show the vacant space to brokers and perspective tenants. The incumbent is expected to be a responsible individual capable of maintaining good attendance, punctuality habits and physical appearance. The position acts as an ambassador to the client’s representative and fosters a positive working relationship with both tenants and other vendors.

Position responsibilities are the following:

Perform scheduled building tours to evaluate and report on the operational status of support and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fuel oil), electrical systems (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, switchgear), control systems, fire/life safety, and mission critical equipment, general building and landscaping conditions, and perform all general maintenance activities to keep buildings in good standing.

The incumbent must possess the necessary skill sets to identify basic electrical and plumbing problems. Make repairs to hung ceiling systems, vinyl tile flooring, sheet rock walls and have the capability to perform painting.

Operate numerous power tools to effectively and safely perform repairs to structures, finishes and mechanical or electrical systems and modular furniture installations.

Excellent communication skills are a must.

May be required to workday, evening or night shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays. Hours to be work are determined by client and job requirements.

Employee will be scheduled to work normal hours Monday-Friday.

Employee must possess a valid driver’s license and operate and maintain his or her assigned vehicle in a safe and orderly fashion.

Black seal/boiler license helpful, but not required.

Candidate must be able to pass background check.

Candidates should live in the Central NJ area.

This job includes the access to a company vehicle for travel to and from job sites.

This position may initially be part-time and develop into a full-time.
