**Job Description:**

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our team at Memo's Cafe. This role is essential for preparing high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes, maintaining our kitchen equipment, and managing inventory levels. Our cafe is situated in the vibrant SFA building in Austin, Texas, and serves a delightful mix of American and Mexican/Latin-themed dishes to a diverse clientele including local regulars and visitors.

**Responsibilities:**
- Prepare breakfast and lunch items following prescribed recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure the kitchen area and equipment are kept clean and orderly.
- Maintain inventory levels and communicate needs or shortages to management promptly.
- Follow food safety and handling procedures according to state and local regulations.
- Assist in the development of new dishes and menu items.
- Collaborate with the rest of the kitchen and café staff to ensure a smooth service period.

**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently, especially during peak hours.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).
