The Team and Your Role

The technology team directly impacts the scale of everyday operations at Phoenix in both the Minerals and Capital Markets elements of the business. In this role, your primary focus will be maintaining & enhancing our existing consumer investment platform. You will also be tasked with contributing to some exciting new internal projects focused on internal operations where you will be required to build automation to support our business processes, develop custom components using modern front-end frameworks, connect to external systems to provide rapid access to important data, and coordinate all these efforts with the team.

 

This is a unique opportunity to join a small but capable team of engineers and analysts and make a direct impact on the company. The ideal candidate for this role has a natural curiosity, a sense of creativity to think outside of the box and the ability to pick things up quickly.


Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Provide effective solutions for enhancing existing systems
  • Automate business processes to improve employee efficiency
  • External systems integration
  • General codebase updates for all internal platforms

Required Skills:

· Understanding of Object-Oriented programming

· Experience with at least 1 front-end JavaScript framework (Vue, React, Angular, etc)

· Highly Motivated

· Ability to meet deadlines

· Willingness to learn a new industry

Desired Skills:

· BS or MS in Computer Science

· Experience with MongoDB or Mongoose

· Experience with NodeJS

· Experience with REST APIs
