Location: REMOTE after 60 days training.

Prefer Medical Interpreter Certification in Spanish OR must receive within 6 months of starting. The company will pay for the certification.

Position Summary:

Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

We are seeking a Bilingual Spanish/English LPN-Patient Advocate. Your primary responsibility will be to contact patients prior to their appointments, providing essential information, addressing concerns, and facilitating a smooth and positive experience.

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and bilingual LPN-Patient Advocate to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our medical practice and our patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and support. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong understanding of patient care processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact scheduled patients, to confirm appointments and provide pre-visit instructions.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, addressing patient inquiries and concerns effectively and compassionately.
  • Educate patients about medical procedures, treatments, and any necessary preparations in both English and Spanish.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions and appointments in electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Collaborate closely with medical staff and administrative teams to coordinate patient care activities and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout their healthcare journey.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and current Colorado licensure.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is essential.
  • Prefer Medical Interpreter Certification in Spanish OR must receive within 6 months of starting. The company will pay for the certification.
  • Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient care or advocacy roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and service excellence.
