Job DescriptionJob Description

Prime Conduit, a national manufacturer in the electrical PVC Conduit Industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Machine Mechanic to join our team. As the Manufacturing Machine Mechanic , you will play a pivotal role in performing mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.

  • 5 Years minimum of experience maintaining Manufacturing Production machinery.
  • 5 Years minimum experience with trouble shooting electrical components of manufacturing machines - diagnose electrical issues through the use of schematics, OHM meter, etc.

Types of Production equipment includes extrusion fabrication machines.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with the plant Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor/Lead in determining daily and weekly Maintenance Mechanic work.

2. Performing completion of work assignments in a timely manner. The Plant runs three shifts

3. Take periodic inventories of maintenance supplies, tools and prepare ordering information for purchasing.

4. Perform visual inspections of maintenance jobs in progress and upon completion to ensure that quality standards are being met.

5. Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on production machinery and other plant equipment and facilities in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.

6. Build and install new equipment for plant improvement projects and make new tooling and equipment for replacement of worn-out items.

7. Repair broken or defective equipment as scheduled

8. Assist production personnel with mechanical, electrical or other operational problems with any plant equipment.

9. Assist in performance of emergency maintenance work on a rush basis when production is adversely affected or directed by Maintenance Supervisor.

10. Maintain preventive maintenance, tools and parts, and training records which are necessary.

11. Originate necessary work orders and plan, schedule and expedite completion of such work orders as approved by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. Maintain work order log and files and prepare periodic status reports.

12. Attend training programs or sessions to improve level of knowledge and skills consistent with the other job requirements.

13. Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all possible times

14. Wear and maintain in good condition all personal safety devices required and work in a safe and efficient manner at all times

15. Develop and maintain a good attendance and employment record

16. Any and all other duties outlined and requested by immediate supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

  • Mechanic has tools and rolling toolbox
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade qualification preferred
  • Proven experience performing mechanical and electrical work within the maintenance field
  • Strong knowledge of industrial PLC's, manufacturing equipment, machinery and systems
  • Proficient in diagnosing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and blue prints
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Stong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various departments
