What the job is:

CPI is looking for someone who has a sound foundation in the principles of accounting, understands debits and credits, contra-asset accounts and the relationship between the balance sheet and income statement.  This person will aid in accounting functions, maintain financial records and reports, cross-train in payroll, perform account reconciliations and prepare monthly tax documents and serve as the point of contact in relation to fixed assets for CPI.  CPI is a safety minded company thus such policies must be followed.  Staff Accountants will also respond to information requests from management and enter daily transactions.  This person will collaborate with the Controller for continuous improvement in the accounting functions at CPI. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from a university or four-year college or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from a community college and three or more years of related experience or five or more years of Accounting related experience. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Proficient knowledge of business computer skills such as Microsoft Office and accounting softwares.
  • May be required to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting as a desk and working on a computer.
