Position Overview:

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of mechanical tasks, including repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of shop equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

- Mechanical Repairs: Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment within the shop. Address issues promptly to minimize downtime.

- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and prevent unexpected breakdowns.

- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to determine causes and implement effective solutions.

- Equipment Operation: Operate various shop equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure equipment is in proper working order and report any issues.

- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used. Provide detailed reports on equipment status and repair needs.

- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment. Conduct safety checks and follow best practices for equipment handling.

- Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and staff to support overall shop operations. Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications:

- Proven mechanical aptitude and experience with various types of shop equipment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
