As an Event Support Lead at The Barns of Kanak, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of events by overseeing the set-up, breakdown, and day of support for our events. Working closely with the Event Coordinator, you will help bring each event to life, maintaining high standards of service and ensuring that all event logistics are managed smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Set-Up:

    • Coordinate and oversee the set-up of event spaces according to event plans and client specifications, including setting up and arranging tables, chairs, staging and décor.
    • Ensure all equipment and supplies are in place and functioning properly before the event begins.
    • Collaborate with vendors, caterers, and other service providers to ensure timely and accurate set-up.

  • Event Breakdown:

    • Lead the breakdown and clean-up of event spaces post-event, ensuring that all equipment is properly stored, and the venue is returned to its original condition.
    • Manage the safe and efficient removal of rental items, equipment, and décor.
    • Address any post-event issues or concerns in a timely manner.

  • On-the-Day Event Support:

    • Assist the Event Coordinator in managing event logistics, addressing any last-minute changes, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
    • Ensure guest parking is cared for in a professional and organized manner
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all venue set up needs ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
    • Provide excellent customer service to clients and guests, responding to their needs promptly and professionally.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and guide event support staff, ensuring they are well-prepared and understand their responsibilities for each event.
    • Conduct pre-event briefings with support staff to outline tasks and expectations.
    • Ensure that all team members adhere to safety and venue protocols.

  • Quality Control:

    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the event and in all back-of-house areas.
    • Ensure that all equipment and materials are in good working condition and report any issues to the Event Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in event support, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items as required for event set-up and breakdown.
  • Leadership experience or ability to supervise and motivate a team is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
