Position: Teen Facilitator - Summer Program

Reports to: VP - Youth and Young Adult Services

Compensation: $25 hourly rate

Location: Chicago, IL


Job Description

Northwestern University Settlement seeks a dedicated professional with an appreciation for its mission. Under direct supervision of the VP of Youth and Young Adult Services, the Teen Facilitator is responsible for the coordination and management of programs designed to provide mentoring, leadership development, and supervision for ages 11 to 17.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Facilitate, direct, and supervise all programmatic activities with youth

  • Build strong, positive relationships with youth participants and facilitate team building between groups, giving youth a sense of dignity, and belonging

  • Develop and implement creative strategies to retain youth participants throughout the program

  • Engage youth in wrap around services within the agency and work with external partners to provide additional support services to youth who ay need it

  • Act as the liaison to participants, agency, families, and DFSS personnel

  • Assists with data collection and entry into Cityspan and other DFSS designated platforms

  • Implement performance measurement tools with youth participants and ensure completion

  • Attend mandatory trainings and learning meetings per request of DFSS , including but not limited to trainings for Cityspan and a DFSS designated technology platform

  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the VP of Youth and Young Adult Services

  • Experience in facilitation and program implementation for teenagers

  • Excellent communication, customer service, ad interpersonal skills

  • A positive attitude and solutions-oriented mindset

  • Skilled at working with teens of various cultures

  • Ability to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google products


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in appropriate field of study or 3 years proven experience in similar field with planning and supervising activities

  • Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time/40 hours
