We are seeking a skilled Optician at our San Diego Optometry practice

JOB DUTIES

You will be assisting in the treatment and care of patients by performing a variety of duties.

Some of the primary responsibilities are:

• Preparing electronic patient charts and entering demographics into the database

• Verifying, authorizing and explaining insurance benefits

• Adequate understanding and ability to explain differences of lens designs, materials, coatings and other lens options

• Accurate measurements of Pupillary distance, OC / Seg Heights

• Ability to adjust, perform minor repairs and dispense glasses, i.e. induce pantascopic tilt and frame wrap

• Neutralizing prescriptions on manual and automatic lensometer

• Following up with patients, labs and vendors on pending orders, delays, etc.

• Ability to dispense, adjust and perform minor repairs on glasses

• Troubleshooting issues with eyewear and be able to come to a solution

• Accurately complete tasks given in a timely manner, be willing to learn and be a team player

Some of the secondary responsibilities are:

• Answering phones, scheduling appointments

• Check patients in and out and collect appropriate fees

• Patient pre-testing using optometric equipment

• Contact lens insertion and removal instruction

• Other office duties as assigned

If you are someone with great customer service skills and have an outgoing, friendly attitude and passion to learn, we want to meet you Prior optician experience is required at a minimum of 2 years.

Full time 32-40 hours per week

Compensation depends on experience. Room for growth
