Scismic is supporting the growth of a private special education school in Rockville, MD that services students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities, and autism that serves students in grades K - 12.

We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join the team. We are open to candidates interested in a temporary role or a full 10-month contract.

 

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Evaluate and provide individual and group therapy as well as classroom integrative services.
  • Work closely with the educational team to provide comprehensive services to students on their caseload.
  • Prepare accurate and timely documentation and report progress of students.
  • Participate in school and departmental staff meetings.
  • Use a variety of virtual programs and platforms to support students' learning during virtual learning.


 

Experience and Skills:

  • Masters from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Eligibility for Maryland licensure must be established prior to employment.
  • Two to three years of pediatric and school experience is preferred.
  • Assistive technology experience a plus.
  • Ability to determine the need for an occupational therapy evaluation.
  • Ability to develop occupationally based intervention plans.
