Position Title: Manufacturing Technician III
Position Overview
Our Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, component verification, system testing, and modification of our Building Carbon Capture System (BCCS). The Manufacturing Technician ensures our BCCS are assembled and evaluated to meet all internal and external requirements.
Additionally, the individual will support the continuous improvement of our BCCS product line to include streamlining of fabrication and cost reduction. He or she will work with internal and external stakeholders to improve our completed systems.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly and metal fabrication, using machinery, welders, power tools and hand tools.
- Installs, modifies, repairs, and operates rotating machinery and industrial equipment.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Assists in electrical and mechanical testing.
- Works with Engineering and other production staff regarding modifications; understanding process needs/deficiencies, suggesting countermeasures, procuring materials, and performing modifications to mechanical components, pressure vessels and process piping.
- Evaluates quality of purchased and manufactured items/assemblies, determining acceptance based on an understanding of usage and performance requirements.
- Operates a forklift, receives inbound shipments, stocks shelves, maintains accurate inventory, prepares finished goods for shipment, and loads outbound trailers.
- Trains peers and less experienced technicians.
- Recommends ways to improve performance by reducing time, cost, and errors.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment according to company policies.
- Performs all tasks safely according to company safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
- Understanding of commercial and industrial piping, tubing, valves and fittings.
- Ability to operate MIG and TIG welders on carbon and stainless steel.
- Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
- Knowledge of the tools and techniques to install, align, maintain and repair industrial machinery and rotating equipment.
- Forklift experience and the ability to pass the certification course
- Understanding and following oral and written directions. Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of company and facility safety policies/programs, and environmental and regulatory policies/requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- 10 years metal fabrication and/or pipe fitting experience. 5 years electro-mechanicalassembly experience. Associates degree, or higher, a plus.
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints and Piping Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Must be able to read, interpret, perform and document procedures.
- Must have experience working within and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Can-do attitude, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Careful attention to detail and dedication to customer service.
- Job requires extended standing, lifting (up to 70 lbs) and physical exertion.
- Job may require travel to installed plant locations to support installation and repairs.
