Quinn Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Rottler Engine Block Machinist to join our team at our City of Industry location.  the ideal candidate will will have a strong background in  CAT engine clock reconditions, machining, precision work and a deep understanding of diesel engine components. 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Rottler machine tools and recondition CAT engine blocks, honing and resurfacing.  
  • Perform Precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure engine blocks meets OEM specifications. 
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and manuals for machining processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on Rottler machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure all work is completed with attention to detail and within designated time frames.
  • Collaborate with the engine rebuild team to meet production goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced with CAT engine block reconditioning
  • Technical certification in machining or related field
  • Familiarity with other machining equipment used in engine rebuilds
  • Proven experience as a machinist, specifically with Rottle machine tools.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, particularly CAT engines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • High proficiency with measuring & hand tools
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and c commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged period of time
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand and reach as necessary
