SUMMARY

Manage daily cash applications and investigate any short-pay cases. Assist Accounting Manager regarding customer accounts and month-end closing journal entries plus related accounts reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for general ledger and general accounting.
  • Support AP processes and ACH processing.
  • Review daily bank transaction and approve and void checks as applicable.
  • Manage wires, ACH and p-card payments.
  • Approve bank transactions and reconciliations.
  • Manage daily cash and Company purchase cards approvals, audits, and program.
  • Assist in month end closing.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and financial statements and provide analysis of variances to prior periods and budgets.
  • Month-end AP accruals.
  • Process year-end 1099s.
  • Monthly reconciliation of statements and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Backup to Accounting Manager.
  • Support investigations related to AP and bank transactions.
  • Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Ability to meet deadlines and support department as needed.
  • Take a lead role in periodic physical inventory counts and daily cycle counts.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Prepare state and local reporting.
  • Support annual audit.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS

  • Educational experience requires a Bachelors in Accounting from an accredited college.
  • 3-5 years experience in General Ledger Accounting required.
  • Manufacturing experience is highly desirable but not required.

SKILLS

Language: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
Computer: Proficient in knowledge of applicable ERP accounts payable/general ledger accounting systems. Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office including, Word & Excel.
Reasoning: Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Other: Attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary. Must demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of an Accounting team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must routinely lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
