A healthcare client of ours (near Waukegan, IL) is seeking an Interim Controller to join their team (1-2 month contract).

 

Must have prior Controller experience in Healthcare Industry

Responsible for the leadership and oversight for the accounting, finance, budget and reimbursement functions managing the day-to-day accounting and finance operations including accurate and timely reporting, development of and monitoring of the annual operating budget and cost reporting.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• Must be capable of hands-on completion of the month-end financial close
• Must have stable / calm approach to managing issues and problem resolution, but possess a sense of urgency to get the job done, including overtime and possible weekend hours during peak periods
• Ensures monthly financial statements are completed timely and accurately and all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis in compliance with company policies and standards and that any outstanding variances are identified and corrected.
• Prepares and publishes corporate required reports for senior management and departments
• Directs the operations of the Revenue Cycle to ensure that accounts receivable are collected timely
• Participates in the preparation of the annual operating budget
• Provides ongoing revenue, expense and cost analysis to assist the CFO in implementing changes needed to achieve budget goals.
• Ensures that the System's records and financial statements are maintained in accordance with GAAP.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Finance or Accounting Degree
• Healthcare industry experience as a Controller required (10+ years of experience)
• Supervisory experience
• Deep accounting expertise, along with strong Excel and data management skill
• CPA (preferred)
