Russell Tobin is looking for an experienced Metrology/Calibration Technician to join a leading manufacturer in the Bloomington/Eden Prairie area. This is a contract-to-hire role with a pay rate of $35-$45/hour.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to manage the calibration program and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the company's measurement equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibration Management:

    • Oversee all calibration activities, ensuring that equipment is calibrated accurately and on schedule.
    • Coordinate logistics for calibration processes, including generating purchase orders, obtaining quotes, and managing shipping requirements.
  • Technical Support:

    • Ensure that all equipment software is up-to-date and properly maintained.
    • Demonstrate strong technical expertise and attention to detail in all calibration activities.
  • Program Facilitation:

    • Lead the equipment calibration program and conduct ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibrations on-site.
    • Support external calibration service providers to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Documentation and Improvement:

    • Maintain thorough records of calibration certificates and track the status of equipment.
    • Generate detailed calibration reports and assist in analyzing data for process improvements.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in metrology methodologies and practices.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Assist in ISO process audits and help update work instructions as necessary.
    • Promote adherence to quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in calibration and metrology.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of GD&T, with the ability to read and interpret prints/drawings.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar standards is an advantage.
  • Experience with corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Vision Systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems, especially JD Edwards, is an advantage.
