Madden Industrial Craftsmen is a leading staffing firm specializing in the placement of skilled trades professionals. We are currently seeking a dedicated Structural Welder to join our client's team in Brownsville, Oregon. Our client is a respected industrial contractor and fabricator, providing a range of services including industrial fabrication, general contracting, and mechanical installation across the industrial, pulp and paper, high-tech, and energy sectors.

Job Title: Structural Welder
Pay Rate: $25-$30 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Location: Brownsville, Oregon

Job Summary

The Structural Welder will be responsible for performing various welding operations, ensuring high-quality welds for structural integrity and compliance with all safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Read, interpret, and execute blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools.
  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and shaping as required.
  • Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of metal components prior to welding.
  • Execute welding operations in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Conduct inspections of welds to identify any defects and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a welding or similar role.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Familiarity with additional metalworking processes such as plasma cutting, soldering, and ductwork fabrication.
  • Skilled in the use of press brake machines, FCAW, pipe threading, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Basic mathematical skills for making measurements and calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Forklift operation skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant welding codes and standards is advantageous.
