Reports To Sr Administrator
Job Summary:
The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care while obtaining high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. This role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Imaging Procedures:
- Perform X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other imaging techniques as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and safety.
-Equipment Operation:
- Operate radiographic equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
-Patient Care:
- Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns to alleviate anxiety.
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide necessary care.
- Safety Protocols:
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of procedures performed, patient information, and imaging results.
- Assist in the preparation of reports as required.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education to enhance skills.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Completion of an accredited radiology program.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State licensure as required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
- Proficiency in using radiology equipment and software.
Work Environment:**
- Primarily in a clinical setting.
- May require standing for long periods and lifting patients as necessary.
