Job DescriptionJob Description

The primary responsibility of the Field Estimator/Templator is to conduct the fabrication templating process to ensure quality measurements and provide customer service according to established protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure jobs stay within projected bids to avoid overages in cost to the company
  • Coordinate with Production Manager
  • Ensure fabrication shop performs on-going quality control inspections to detect fabrication errors/problems
  • Review & Download all bid documents including drawings, addendum's, bid forms, etc.
  • Attend team meetings as scheduled
  • Review plans and specifications to identify product location and application requirements
  • Request and organize all materials necessary for project submittals
  • Assists management with any necessary cost analysis, variance, or margin analysis
  • All other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of fabrication techniques, internet, inventory, project management, spreadsheet and word process software
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); College/Technical Degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CAD/CAM experience preferred
  • Digital and hard blue print estimating capabilities
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position within the industry preferred
  • RFMS Measure knowledge preferred but not required
  • Strong computer skills (All Microsoft products; Excel, Word, &, Outlook)
  • Strong math and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills, communicate effectively and work in a team atmosphere
  • Field/Project Management onsite experience
  • Bilingual experience preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Proactively identify, analyze, address, and resolve problem areas, conflicts, and issues
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, and makes timely decisions
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure adequate tracking systems are utilized to maintain and track all required information associated with the ordering and production process
  • Working knowledge of internet, inventory, project management, spreadsheet and word process software and order processing systems.

  • Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
  • Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
  • Dynamic Strength - The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue
  • Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Job duties will be performed primarily at the job site which may be either residential or commercial buildings
  • Requires employee to be outdoors on a regular basis
  • Will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Noise level usually high

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Will be required to travel to multiple jobsites on a regular and ongoing basis
  • Must have a valid driver license and insurance that meets the company’s requirements at all times
