Traveling Diesel Technician

Primary Objective
We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Technician, who is willing to travel, to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with additional experience in electrical and hydraulic systems. Possession of CDL is considered a strong asset. As a Traveling Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing Barbco made equipment, in the field and occasionally in our shop, to keep them running smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to Customer shop or job site to make a diagnosis and/or perform a specific repair.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, Electrical hydraulic systems, and related components.
Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems.
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify any potential problems or safety concerns.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex engine, electronic, and hydraulic issues.
Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and efficiently, following company standards and safety protocols.
Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding the status of repairs and maintenance tasks.
Assist with other duties as needed, including occasional driving of company vehicles.
Key Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program preferred.
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and electrical systems.
Hydraulic experience is a plus.
Possession of a valid CDL is a plus.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine and electrical issues.
Solid mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
