Summary: As a dealer advisor/outside sales representative, you’ll strive to grow your territory and increase SAS’s overall market share in the auto auction industry. Strong interpersonal skills are instrumental in this role, where you’ll consistently interact with existing and potential customers to promote SAS’s value.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Visit minimum of 10 dealers minimum 3-day road travel. Subject to change based on outside variables such as geographic region and traffic.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Create and implement sales and marketing strategies.
  • Coordinate and implement call schedules for current and prospective customers.
  • Provide approved incentives to introduce prospective customers to the auction.
  • Maintain working customer database for assigned contacts/territory, and update SAS system database weekly.
  • Identify and manage account activities of the top 20 accounts (10 active, 10 inactive).
  • Promote awareness of auction services and events through personal visits and marketing efforts.
  • Actively participate in trade shows, conventions, seminars, dealer association meetings, and social events to cultivate relationships.
  • Provide expertise of the auction business to customers and resolve business issues.
  • Develop and maintain quarterly business plans for territory and accounts.
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in sales activities on auction day, coordinate with dealer registration and yard staff.
  • Must possess an active and clean driver’s license.
  • Must pass background check and drug test.

Special Requirements:

  • Extended travel required. Must be able to drive long distances and make multiple stops.
  • Must occasionally host customers in the evening.
  • Assist with marketing efforts during special sales or promotions.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for eight hours to assist customers on auction day.
  • Assist in other departments and perform other job functions as needed.

Schedule: Full time, 40-hour work week, or until the job is completed.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • A working knowledge of the automobile industry or related field.
  • Minimum four years outside sales with a proven track record of success in sales, promotion, and customer relations.
  • Experience developing and implementing promotional activities.
  • Comfortable with “cold calling”, networking and problem solving.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and basic network operations systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
