Tax Staff-Senior

Job Purpose/Summary: The Tax Staff-Senior is a detail-oriented tax professional who has experience with various tax filings.

General Accountabilities:

·Prepare and file complex tax returns on behalf of clients including partnerships, S and C Corporations, non-profits, trusts and high net worth individuals

·Review tax returns from tax staff and provide feedback and instruction for deficiencies of tax knowledge and preparation procedures

·Compile supporting documentation for tax returns

·Prepare and review income tax projections and estimate calculations

·Develop and train tax staff and develop working relationships with clients

·Assist with federal and state audits

·Identify potential tax issues during planning of engagement

·Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies

·Perform tax research; staying up-to-date on law changes

 

Job Qualifications:

·BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

·2+ years of tax experience

·Master’s degree; a plus

·CPA or CPA candidate, preferred

 

Skills:

·Excellent project management skills

·Excellent verbal and written communication

·Strong work ethic and professionalism

·Experience with UltraTax and the Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite a plus

 

Other Requirements:

·Willingness to work extended hours during peak busy seasons

·Participate in special firm initiatives as requested by firm leadership
