Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a MIG Welder/Plate Fabricator to become an integral part of our team The Welder will use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms.
Using a variety of processes, carry out skilled plating, fabrication and welding work including inspection, planning, preparation and cutting, checking/testing; to fabricate, repair, maintain and install metal items, whilst performing the allocated tasks to meet applicable safety standards, targets, criteria and deadlines and to maximize productivity and profitability.
Role Overview:
- A Fabricator (also known as an Assembler) utilizes both machines and hand tools to produce components for larger structures, such as airplanes or machines.
- Their tasks involve reading blueprints, aligning components, and using tools or machines to complete the assembly process.
Fabricator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read Detailed Schematics: Fabricators study complex machine schematics to understand the assembly process.
- Trim, Cut, and Fit Components: They use hand tools and power tools to trim, cut, and fit components into the final product.
- Weld and Solder: Fabricators join pieces together through welding and soldering techniques.
- Align Components: They ensure precise alignment of components and connect them using bolts and screws.
- Collaborate with Cobots: Some fabricators work alongside collaborative robots (cobots) to produce and assemble components.
- Identify Faulty Components: In case of defective products, fabricators identify faulty components and rectify them1.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques.
- Physically capable of handling demanding tasks.
