Electrical Estimator

Rogers Electrical Contracting Company, Inc., a leader in the construction industry, is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team in Fairmont, WV. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of electrical construction projects, ensuring competitive bids, and supporting project management from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of electrical systems, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed and accurate estimates for electrical construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other costs.
• Blueprint Analysis: Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to determine scope of work and project requirements.
• Cost Research: Research and analyze material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor bids to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and submit them to clients within required deadlines.
• Client Communication: Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
• Risk Analysis: Identify potential project risks, including cost overruns, scheduling challenges, and technical issues, and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
• Project Handover: Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution, including the provision of project budgets and timelines.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Engage with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing for materials and equipment.
• Maintain Estimating Records: Ensure all estimates, revisions, and bid submissions are accurately documented and filed for future reference.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and bids simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience with both commercial and industrial electrical projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in electrical construction within industrial or large-scale commercial projects.
• Familiarity with LEED certification or other sustainable building practices.
• Experience working with union and non-union subcontractors.
