The law firm of Wasker, Dorr, Wimmer & Marcouiller is located in West Des Moines, Iowa. We provide a broad range of legal services to individuals and business clients throughout Iowa.

Our firm is a general service law firm practicing in the areas of real estate, business litigation, civil litigation, government relations, legislative lobbying, probate & estates, family law, public utility law and personal injury. We represent clients at every level of the Iowa and Federal court systems.

As a Staff Accountant you will process accounts payable for the overall firm. Additionally, you will be the primary accounting person dealing with issues related to our large real estate division. All positions in accounting may be called upon to support, assist, or cover for any other position in accounting, so you will be cross trained. This position is very fast paced, presents differently every day, and requires the ability to be interrupted and switch between tasks quickly. The right candidate will have drive, a desire to excel, the ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly, a solid understanding of accounting concepts, understands the importance of accuracy and compliance, a willingness to follow directions, and be a part of a team.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Pay firm bills
  • Deal with Real Estate accounting issues
  • Outbound Wires
  • Reconcile some G/L expense accounts

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience
  • Real estate experience preferred
  • Law firm and trust accounting experience preferred
  • Must grasp new concepts quickly
  • Someone who takes pride in their work
  • Must work well under pressure
  • Must work well with others
  • Comfortable using accounting software, preferably Sage50 and Excel
