Industrial Lead Maintenance Mechanic

Our Company: Interstate Foods is a local poultry processor and distributor with a broad clientele all over southern California. We are looking for an experienced full-time industrial lead maintenance mechanic who will be responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance department.

Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for installing, repairing, caring for, and maintaining all the property and production assets safely and efficiently. Such as: Electric motors, pallet Jacks, rider pallet jacks, tumblers, flatteners, grinders, pressure washer scrubbers, conveyors, vacuum cleaners, sealers, hydraulic pumps, and scales.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in parts requirements by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Supervises the work of one or more employees within the department.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Comply with all State, & Federal regulations such as: OSHA, USDA, and SQF regulations.

Industrial Maintenance Technician Qualifications and Skills

  • Capability to operate machinery and technical equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
  • Proficient in utilizing the Lockout/tagout process
  • Ability to work extended days and some weekends if needed
  • Must have strong reading and writing to analyze and interpret technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Basic electrical competency
  • Basic Welding
  • Knowledge of Truck mechanical and maintenance.

Requirements:

 

Physical requirements consist of: Lifting and carrying up to 75lbs, bending, standing, stooping, squatting, climbing stairs and ladders, cannot be afraid of heights.

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

 

Experience: Pay based on experience and skill level. 5 years plus preferred 

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24 - $35 per hour

Work Location: In person

 

Industrial Maintenance Certificate/Associate in Engineering a plus

  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)
