Prepress Ink Technician: Job Description

Schreiner Group LP has a full-time regular position for a Prepress Ink Technician. The Prepress Ink Technician will be an active and integral part of the Production team.

Responsibilities

  • Proper preparation and inventory levels of ink, coating and solvents used in production
  • Maintains ink recipes in the ERP system as well as maintains and files sample of special inks
  • Preparation of plates used for production
  • Be able to retrieve the approved illustration from the secure OSH server, prepare and set-up the artwork files need for every job, color match to the master artwork file
  • Creation of plates used for all presses
  • Perform and assist in the preventive maintenance needed for all graphic prepress equipment
  • Control waste by controlling ongoing quality checks during production of proofs, films, and plates
  • Aid in all make-ready tasks for the press which relate to prepress and artwork which include the inspecting and mounting plates or screens. Check for position of image.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Degree IGED) or higher educational degree
  • 3-5 years' experience with graphic design, typography, print layout, and print production
  • Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, manuals and manufacturing documents including the system of Graphic specification/Graphic identical/Articles
  • Experience with troubleshooting customer digital files, load fonts, inspect graphics, and make color separations
  • Working knowledge of quality procedures in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
  • Intermediate level of compute knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suites
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or sitting for long periods time
