Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and licensed full-time therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at our inpatient residential detox facility in Woodland Hills, CA. The therapist will provide therapeutic services to clients undergoing treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUD). This includes conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to support the client's recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Treatment Planning:
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations, to identify client needs and strengths.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and coordinate with the treatment team to address co-occurring disorders, trauma, and substance use issues.
Therapeutic Interventions:
Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy to clients in detox and residential care settings.
Utilize therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
Facilitate psychoeducation groups focusing on relapse prevention, coping skills, and other recovery-related topics.
Case Management:
Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Collaborate with case managers, social workers, and other healthcare providers to support clients' aftercare planning and transition to outpatient services.
Crisis Intervention:
Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed for clients in distress during detox and residential treatment.
Participate in treatment team meetings, providing clinical insights and recommendations for client care.
Family Involvement:
Engage families in the treatment process when appropriate, providing support and education to help them understand addiction and recovery.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with medical staff, including doctors and nurses, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to ensure a collaborative and coordinated approach to client care.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
Licensure:
Active and unencumbered licensure in California as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist.
Associate level clinicians; AMFT, ACSW and APCC will also suffice
Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of experience in substance use treatment, including experience in detox or residential settings.
Experience working with co-occurring mental health disorders is preferred.
Kipu (EMR) experience is highly sought after.
Skills:
Strong clinical skills in providing therapy to individuals with SUD and co-occurring mental health issues.
Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, MI, DBT).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach to client care.
Certifications:
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
CADC or equivalent substance abuse counseling certification is a plus.
Working Conditions
Full-time, 40 hours per week; mainly 9-5PM.
The role is primarily located within a residential detox facility setting.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, dealing with individuals in various stages of detox and recovery.
