Professional Assessment of Indiana, Inc. is seeking Behavior Consultants to provide Behavior Management Services to individuals with developmental disabilities across the state of Indiana. This is a part-time independent contractor position that allows individuals to grow their own professional business to full time if desired.
- Qualified candidates must hold a master’s degree in special education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Independent contractors can work as few or as many hours as preferred.
- This position is based in Marion County (Indianapolis), Indiana but we serve counties across Indiana.
- Independent contractors can provide behavior management services in their county of residence as well as surrounding counties.
- Behavior Consultants must maintain compliance with the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services guidelines.
- Responsibilities include providing behavior supports to individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages who are receiving services in family homes and supported living settings. Job duties include conducting on-going observations, assessing the function of behaviors, creating behavior support plans, training caregivers/support staff on implementing behavior support plans, monitoring treatment, and being an active participant of the individuals support team.
- Behavior Consultants must write and maintain all client records including behavior programs and assessments, progress reports, medication reduction plans, billing forms, monthly contact notes, and any other required documents. In-house training is available to develop these skills to any new professionals to the industry.
- Monthly clinical staff meetings are provided to facilitate discussions and share ideas about the effectiveness of treatment, alternative approaches to address particularly problematic behaviors, and/or other challenges that our Behavior Consultants may have.
- Annual training sessions are provided and focus on protection of individual rights, protecting an individual from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, DDRS incident reporting, DDRS current policy on incident reporting, and PAI’s incident reporting policies and procedures.
- This position is flexible and allows the Behavior Consultant to coordinate their own schedule with the person who is receiving the services along with their caregivers/support staff.
- Behavior Consultants receive supervision from one of our Ph.D., HSPPs as well as ongoing training to assist them with developing their practice.
