Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, bonuses, commissions, and other earnings.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and questions.
- Ensure compliance with benefit plan rules and regulations.
- Coordinate with benefits providers and vendors as necessary.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll taxes, including quarterly and year-end reports.
- Prepare and distribute annual employee tax forms (e.g., W-2s).
Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records.
- Generate reports for management on payroll expenses, benefits utilization, and other relevant metrics.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll and benefits information.
Employee Support:
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
- Educate employees on payroll and benefits policies, procedures, and options.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and benefits processes.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT departments to implement system enhancements and upgrades.
