We are a repair and manufacturing shop for turbines and other mechanical equipment. All machinists are expected to set up and operate various machine tools, follow established methods and procedures, and meet critical tolerances necessary to machine an array of parts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receive and interpret oral/written instructions from supervisors and/or assigned personnel.
2. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and abide by all safety/environmental rules and regulations.
3. Make tools, fixtures, accessories and cutting tools. Select proper tools and accessories as well as sharpen cutting tools, select, replace and align inserts.
4. Set up and operate machine tools required to perform complicated non-repetitive machining operations requiring independent decisions.
5. Debug programs and program CNC machine tools for routine machining such as straight, taper and radial turning. Program milling, drilling and threading operations on CNC milling machines.
6. Assist in set up and operation of machine tools in conjunction with machinist(s) as required to perform work in shop or on customer’s premises, wherever located.
7. Assist in the disassembly inspection, repair, reassembly and installation of all types of motors, generators, pumps, valves, turbines, etc.
8. Make routine repairs and new parts for machine and equipment malfunctions.
Must be familiar with: vertical and horizontal boring mills, engine lathe, CNC lathes, CNC vertical milling machines, etc.
**Starting pay is commensurate with relevant knowledge/experience.**
Job Type: Full-time
Starting Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 (commensurate with experience)
**Must possess valid driver's license**
