We're looking for motivated individuals to join our custom apparel team at our Berlin Location, located in the historic Berlin Farmers Market.

This is an entry-level position so it's designed for individuals who are looking to get their foot in the door at a growth-oriented company, no prior experience is required. The right attitude goes a long way.

We provide training for all our team members. Many of our company leaders and management staff started in entry level roles, like this one

Responsibilities:

  • Operating embroidery and printing machines

    • This includes setting up and operating embroidery and printing machines to create designs on clothing items.

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment

    • Clothing production requires frequent maintenance of machines and equipment to ensure they are operating effectively. As an entry-level employee, you may be responsible for basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks.

  • Preparing garments for production

    • This includes tasks such as sorting and organizing clothing items for production, trimming and folding finished products and preparing products for shipping.

  • Quality control

    • Clothing production requires a keen eye for detail to ensure that finished products meet quality standards. Entry-level employees may be responsible for inspecting finished products and identifying any defects or errors.

  • Inventory management

    • Keeping track of inventory levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining records are all important tasks in clothing production. Entry-level employees may be responsible for these tasks under the supervision of a manager.

  • Following safety protocols

    • Working with heavy machinery and equipment can be dangerous if proper safety protocols are not followed. As an entry-level employee, you will be responsible for following safety guidelines and maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Communication and teamwork

    • Clothing production involves working closely with other employees to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team are important for success in this role.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Optional)

    • If you're in your a Junior or Senior in High School, you may still apply, however, we may require formal approval from your parent/guardian

  • Attention to detail

    • Clothing production requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Candidates should have a strong eye for detail and the ability to identify errors and defects.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Clothing production can be fast-paced, with tight deadlines and high production quotas. Candidates should be able to work efficiently under pressure and meet production goals.

  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time or lifting boxes up to 50 lbs

    • Clothing production can be physically demanding, with tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting heavy boxes, and operating machinery. Candidates should be physically fit and able to perform these tasks.

  • Technical skills / Working with computers

    • Many of the processes we use involve using of computers and software. Candidates must be comfortable working with technology.

  • Good communication skills

    • Candidates should have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.

  • Willingness to learn

    • Entry-level employees may be trained on the job and should be willing to learn new skills and techniques. A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities is an important qualification for this role.

Schedule:

The location this job is located in is a hybrid retail/production environment. We are open on weekends and time around the holidays like Christmas, Black Friday, Easter etc. are extremely busy and will require availability.

Compensation:

This job is designed for individuals who are new to the field and have little to no prior experience. We offer an Entry Level Position with a starting wage that meets the legal state minimum. As you gain experience and demonstrate high levels of performance and productivity, your compensation will increase accordingly.

After overcoming many many many obstacles that were thrown in our way we overcame and eventually moved on to open two more locations, one on the Wildwood Boardwalk and one in a local artisanal farmers market in Berlin, New Jersey. Our success in the headwear space was evident as we consistently provided our valued customers with exclusive, never-before-seen, merchandise in their favorite vacation spots.

While we always loved the sports licensed apparel business, we began to set our sights on a new avenue. That opportunity was the business of custom apparel. And so, with no prior knowledge, we purchased our first single head, 15 needle, embroidery machine (we call it Ol' Reliable) and entered the business of headwear embroidery. For months, we experimented with custom embroidered hats. We spent countless hours testing and refining our process until we had successfully mastered hat embroidery, jacket embroidery, t-shirt embroidery, polo shirt embroidery, backpack embroidery and even more countless forms of custom embroidery.

Thanks to the effort and perseverance of our amazing staff, we have expanded our custom business to include custom t-shirt printing, direct to garment printer, heat transfer vinyl, cut and sew, applique and much more.

Cap Swag is all about pushing boundaries and surpassing expectations.
