Title: ESE / ESOL Facilitator

Reports to: Campus Director

Position type: 12 month position (Exempt)

Starting Pay: $55,800 per year

Position Summary

The ESE/ESOL Facilitator works in conjunction with site director, general education teachers, related service providers, and other support personnel to communicate and address the unique needs of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students.

 

Key Responsibilities

● Support NBHS by attending community service and outreach activities throughout the year

● Provide excellent customer service

● Coordinate the development of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program curriculum, goals and objectives, planning procedures and activities and evaluation procedures and results

● Assist school personnel in the writing and implementation of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)

● Provide technical assistance and guidance to personnel related to the eligibility staffing of exceptional students as required by State and Federal Rules

● Assist in the determination of program effectiveness by examining and monitoring performance of students with disabilities as evidenced by IEP evaluation criteria

● Collaborate with parents, community agencies and others in the coordination of programs and services for exceptional and ESOL students

● Identify and/or design and facilitate in-service training and professional development for staff

● Support school Mission by assisting with home visits

● Conduct annual review and propose appropriate updates to the ESE Facilitator Reference and Procedures Manual

● Performs other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Education with Certification in Exceptional Student Education (K-12)

● ESOL Endorsement (preferred)

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Background check and fingerprinting clearance

● Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment

● Knowledgeable of ESE/ESOL policies, regulations, and laws

● Knowledge of applicable computer software and hardware process applications such as spreadsheets, word-processing, database and operating systems, and/or presentation software

● Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance

● Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or Endorsement in ESOL K-12 (preferred)

Desire to serve students in an above and beyond mentality. Periodically checks emails and phone messages after hours and on the weekend. Urgent work-related email and phone messages should be answered after 1-2 hours of receipt.

 

Physical Environment

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled office setting. Requires sitting for the majority of the day. Hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read, prepare, and proofread documents; sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects. The ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 50 pounds. This position serves multiple locations and requires travel.
