Position: Registered Behavior Technician/ Behavior Technician 

 

Purpose

Under the direction of Clinical Director and lead staff members, the Registered Behavior Technician will provide 1:1 implementation of skill acquisition programs and behavior plans for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. 

 

Knowledge of Behavior Analysis in Practice:

This position requires the individual to have a minimum of high school diploma and become registered by BACB within 3 months of employment and experience in Behavior Health. RBT registration and/or Bachelor degree preferred. The 40 hour training course must be completed during training. 

 

The employee must have:

  • Good organization and time management skills
  • The ability to follow through on given directions in a timely manner
  • Patience and understanding of cultural diversity and confidentiality
  • The ability to interact well with children and adults with special needs
  • The ability to work well independently 
  • Passed all behavior technician competencies 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Perform data and visual graphing analysis ongoing
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in an active fun environment

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Provide ABA service on a case basis in the home, school, and/or outpatient center
  • Participate in training activities as needed that provides instruction on Applied Behavior Analysis, discrete trail teaching techniques, management of challenging behaviors, child development and data collection techniques applicable to specific client population. 
  • Assist with Functional Behavior Assessment of data collection and implementation of skill acquistion
  • Attend team meetings monthly, work cooperatively within a team of therapist
  • Assist and manage with daily changes and updates to client programming
  • Prepare and assist with creating academic, communication, and fundamental resources ongoing
  • Must work effectively/positively with parents to improve the quality of life of their children and adults
  • Must have a positive relationship with families, children, staff and others from diverse backgrounds
  • The employee to receive feedback from peers and supervisory staff
