Job DescriptionJob Description

Summary:

Assemble hose, cable, and other reels by reading and understanding shop packets and job instructions. Perform the major tasks of prepping, building, hosing, and testing using a variety of hand tools (including battery and pneumatic) and mechanical fastening machines. Package, label, and palletize the reels for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Adhere to all company and department safety requirements

· Reading and understanding shop packets and job instructions

· Continually lifting and manuevering up to 50 pounds

· Use of a variety of hand tools (including battery and pneumatic) and mechanical fastening machines

· Continual use of hands, fingers & wrists to pull and manipulate parts for assembly

· Ability to complete each phase of the assembly process

· Work cohesively with other team members to achieve departmental goals

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures, operating and maintenance instructions or manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to comprehend and apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. Must have the ability to prioritize orders.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The majority of time is spent standing, using hands to finger, handling or feeling, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds from ground up. Occasionally squatting, stooping, pushing and pulling pallet jacks, and Kan Ban containers.

Working conditions include working near forklifts, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud. Hot to cold conditions depending upon outside weather. Sometimes the working conditions will include fumes or airborne particles.
