General Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a General Maintenance Worker to join our team. The General Maintenance worker will complete a variety of indoor/outdoor building maintenance tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preventative maintenance of buildings, fixtures, and equipment under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Complete minor repairs as needed.
  • Interior and exterior painting, including prep work and repairs as assigned.
  • Exterminating center building as assigned.
  • Snow removal as assigned.
  • Lawn and garden work as assigned.
  • Parking lot patching and striping as assigned.
  • This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or administrator.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience in Building Maintenance.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable DMV record.
  • Ability to follow direction.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting - up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Lifting - must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Push/Pull Using Machinery - yes
  • Standing - over 2/3 of the time.
  • Walking - over 2/3 of the time.
  • Reaching - over 2/3 of the time.
  • Climbing - over 2/3 of the time.
  • Stooping - over 2/3 of the time.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. It offers paid time off for sick, vacation, personal, birthday and recognized holidays. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and Hearing, as well as Basic /Voluntary Life and other supplemental benefits.
