Truck Paint and Body Technician

Local area fire and rescue apparatus manufacturer is seeking highly motivated person to fill a position in our body and paint facility. Due to the unique product we manufacture even with prior experience, training will be required. Job Duties include:

• Prepare the surface to be painted by sanding or grinding away imperfections that may interfere with the new paint application.
• Clean the surface of dust or dirt trapped under the paint which can ruin the finished surface.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment to prepare each unit to be painted.
• Mask parts of the apparatus with paper or tape to prevent over-spray of paint application.
• Spray painting involves operating a spray gun and other machinery with the ability to control the flow of the paint and air pressure to the spray gun by adjusting the nozzle.
• Properly disposing of hazardous waste materials in order to provide a clean safe work place and eliminate conditions which may cause work related illness and/or injuries, all while delivering a quality product for the customer.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, stand and/or sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 plus pounds.
• Must follow all general safety rules for each job and maintain and wear all required safety and health PPE, ear/eye protection, mask, respirator, etc.
• May have to disassemble parts of units prior to painting, clean and reassemble before the product is ready for our customer satisfaction.
• Keep paint area cleaned, along with all painting equipment, after each use.
• All other duties as assigned.
