Buyer - Planner

Primary Purpose of this Job

The primary purpose of this job is to function as a liaison between the company’s Engineering, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving departments. It is a focal point among all departments to effectively communicate and help meet project requirements through a careful review of capacity and scheduling of jobs

Additional Responsibilities

· •Purchase products for demand and stock from assigned suppliers

· •Plan and Pipeline inventory for low to medium-complex products

· •Proactively expedite backlog

· •Identify and update changes to the supplier open order reports

· •Performs basic purchase order add and maintenance functions

· •Perform stock rotations as defined in the supplier authorization agreements

Basic Qualifications

· 4-year degree in business operations management or related technical field (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience may be considered)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Skilled in:

· Strong communication skills, both orally and written

· The ability to work in a team-based environment

· Proficient in Microsoft Office

· The ability to manage large amounts of transactions daily

· Detail-oriented, collaborative, and highly organized with the ability to multi-task

Ability to:

· Communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job

· Adapt to changing work environments and competing demands, able to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events

· Communicate and work with all levels of staff in various departments

· Walk; sit; stand; bend; lift; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; use hands to fingers; handle or feel objects; and move continually during working hours

· Lift over 50 pounds, along with over-the-head lifting

· Vision abilities, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus

Personal Protective Equipment is typically required to perform the essential functions of this job

· ANSI-rated metatarsal shoes

· Safety glasses

· Cut-resistant gloves
