Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for an Entry Level Speech Language Pathologist in a school district in Sugar Land, TX. As a Speech Therapist, you will help empower students with individualized needs to communicate confidently and effectively. You will work collaboratively with a team of educators and clinical staff that are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for all students. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Use a variety of assessment tools and techniques to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Interpret assessment results to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals.
  • Therapy and Intervention:
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment data and in collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and innovative therapy techniques to address students' needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, administrators, and other school staff to support students' speech and language development.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other relevant school functions.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language-related topics.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to speech-language pathology services in schools.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current Texas state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in the field.
