Dogs Deserve Better is currently accepting applications for a full time role as an Adoption and Foster Counselor. In this position, your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance and support to potential pet adopters, assisting them in finding a suitable companion that aligns with their lifestyle, doing home visits, adoption events, and transport. If you are passionate about animal welfare and enjoy helping both people and animals find happiness, this position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our organization and the community we serve. Responsibilities include:

~ process foster and adoption applications

~ transport animals to vet appointments

~ oversee meet ups with DDB dogs and potential foster/adopter dogs

~ conduct home visits for new DDB foster/adopter applicants

~ Instagram and Facebook posts

~ work with our boarding partners and our dogs who are in boarding

~ visit shelters and private properties to take custody of dogs

~ attend events with available, friendly dogs

~ input data into ShelterLuv software

~ create Petfinder profiles

~ submit a weekly activity report to the board of directors

Salary: $20.00 an hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Laptop and cell phone provided

DDB vehicles available as needed for transport and adoption events
