As a Senior Architect at SMRT, you will be working directly with firm Principals and Project Managers to plan and design a variety of project types. Candidates should value the opportunity to work collaboratively with our in-house engineers on creative design solutions. You will be responsible for addressing the technical requirements of projects and leading a team of designers, through effective communication and mentorship. Strong technical knowledge and experience through all project phases is required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a primary client contact on projects in conjunction with Principals/Project Managers, building and maintaining lasting relationships through outstanding client service.
  • Works with clients to identify project requirements, goals, and priorities.
  • Aids in the development of approximate budgets and schedules.
  • Lead in the development and delivery of projects from start to finish with minimal oversight.
  • Manages project teams successfully, including assuming responsibility for meeting construction budget and schedule requirements.
  • Ensures documentation meets Quality Control standards and may conduct QC reviews of contract documents
  • May conduct technical and peer reviews of complex projects.
  • Collaborates across disciplines and with internal design, sustainability, and project delivery leaders.
  • Mentors architectural staff.
  • Opportunities to grow and advance in focused areas of the architecture discipline such as Design, Sustainability, Project Delivery and Management, and Construction Administration.

  • Advanced knowledge of national, state, and local codes and standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to leverage Revit.
  • Committed to staying current with professional and industry trends and maintaining professional license.

Requirements:

· Education and Experience Requirements:

· 5-year B-Arch, or BA/BS with M-Arch highly desired.

· Professional registered architect with 10+ years of relevant experience

· NCARB certification highly desired.
