Job Description

At Truck & Trailer Express Service, we are locally-owned company based out of Grand Rapids, MI and we have been in business since 2014. We are looking to hire experienced Diesel technician to join our team. Engine Repair Techs will work on a variety of engines including Cummins, Detroit, Volvo, Mack, CAT, etc.

Qualifications

- Strong teamwork skills

- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type

- Customer focused attitude

- Must be HDT repair certified

- Ability to pass a drug test

- Must be able to diagnose and repair tractors/trailers

- Basic computer skills

 

Responsibilities

- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on trucks and tractor-trailers

- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs

- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable

- Scheduling, tracking, and updating maintenance records per DOT and Company requirements

- Interacts with customers in a professional and positive manner

- Managing shop safety and cleanliness

- Making sure semi trucks and trailers are maintained and safe for our customers

- Conduct safety checks on vehicles

- Work with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs

- Perform other duties as required

- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.

- Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations

- Sign off on work of other technicians

- Follow procedures including documenting all work performed on work orders

- Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift 11 to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift from 26 to 100 plus pounds
