Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBoard Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. At Hope Autism Clinics, Board Certified Behavior Analysts and other qualified service professionals provide medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, Speech Language Therapy, autism screenings, and diagnostic evaluations to children with ASD and developmental disabilities from ages 0-18.


Summary:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst develops programming for and supervises evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis therapy services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in accordance with ethical guidelines of the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).


What You Will Do:

  1. Develops treatment and/or behavior intervention plans for individuals with ASD as part of evidence based therapy service provision. Utilizes a variety of assessment tools such as the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program, Adaptive Behavior Assessment System to write operationally defined goals and objectives. Meets treatment plan requirements per insurance company and clinic checklist.
  2. Treats problem behavior with a function-based approach. Utilizes teaching procedures based in Applied Behavior Analysis. Does not recommend complimentary or alternative therapies.
  3. Consistently and frequently analyzes data on treatment goals and adjusts teaching procedures and intervention strategies according to data. Collects functional assessment data when appropriate.
  4. Involves the entire family in treatment. Ensures treatment plans include parent goals. Meets with parents regarding progress or provides parent training a minimum of one time per month. Provides in-home consultations and/or parent training sessions when needed.
  5. Supervises and collects treatment fidelity data for Registered Behavior Technicians for a minimum of 5% of the time spent in therapy. Ensures: reliable data collection (90% or above), and maintenance of 90% of above on treatment fidelity checklists, effective use of contingencies of reinforcement, appropriate prompting procedures are implemented and effective use of transfer of stimulus control procedures. Conducts preference and reinforcer assessments as needed.
  6. Provides supervision and data analysis for a minimum of 20% of hours spent in treatment.
  7. Provides supervised field work per BACB guidelines for clinical team members to obtain BCBA or BCaBA credentials.
  8. Maintains BCBA credential by earning continuing education units per BACB guidelines.
  9. Meets timelines for submission of treatment plans or assessments to the Clinic Billing Department. Submits session notes for billing at minimum weekly.
  10. Accepts supervisory feedback and adjusts behavior or practices accordingly.
  11. Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of alleged abuse and neglect of individuals served by The Autism Clinic, as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
  12. Performs all other duties as required or assigned.


Working Conditions:

Work is performed in indoor and outdoor settings except in instances of inclement weather. Work may be performed in a clinic setting, client’s home or community setting.
