JOB SUMMARY: 

NRTC Broadband Solutions is looking for OSP Managers to join our growing team. The NRTC Broadband Solutions OSP Manager oversees outside plant operations at one project, under the direction of the OSP Director, this includes field engineering, inspection; oversees the construction of fiber and fixed wireless facilities; ensures that personnel and contractors understand RUS specifications procedures and regulations; and oversees the safety of the project. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage all aspects of outside plant activities, including fiber and fixed wireless, to ensure they are performed efficiently and according to established standards

    • Enforce construction standards for fiber and fixed wireless, addressing any requests related to electric purposed plant

    • Adhere to field engineering standards and procedures, facilitating the achievement of construction standards

    • Follow inspection process and procedures to ensure construction standards are achieved 

    • Foster consistency among OSP Inspectors in the pursuit of primary objectives

  • Manage the day-to-day activities related to inspection, ensuring high-quality performance

    • Organize the OSP staff to ensure achievement of primary objectives including assignment of Inspectors to Contractor crews 

    • Promote a culture of teamwork and collaboration among Inspectors and Coop Members

    • Conduct construction meetings as necessary to address issues and facilitate efficient operations

  • Manage documentation and communication between OSP team, members, and construction vendors

    • Utilize efficient processes and documentation to drive results, relying less on manpower and experience
    • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation in Automation/Workflow systems according to OSP standards and procedures

    • Focus on decentralized Field Engineering processes that drive the design of the network 

    • Stay current on all Documentation, including Inspector Daily Reports, Contractor Street Sheets, Production Sheet Validation, Contractor Invoicing and As-builts based on those invoices 
    • Provide weekly reporting and communication to the assigned Project Manager for the project

    • Complete ownership of the Outside Plant function including internal and external resources and all methods of construction 

    • Promote and instill the NRTC Broadband Solutions culture within the project team, fostering professional growth and development

  • Other related duties as assigned 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft 365 & SmartSheet products 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communications skills 

  • Strong command of RUS construction standards 

  • Above average skills in verbal communication 

  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with internal and external customers 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Demonstrated ability to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Ability to travel as required
