Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred but not required

2. Enrolled Agent Designation or CPA required

3. Experience as a tax preparer in an Accounting firm of 3 years or more

4. In-depth knowledge of federal tax laws, regulations and accounting principles

5. Demonstrated experience in state and local tax preparation

6. Proficiency in Drake or other tax Software and QuickBooks Online

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel

8. Strong technical skills and ability to research tax issues

9. Detail oriented, well-organized with strong communication skills

10. Thrives in High-Pressure environment. High stress tolerance

Responsibilities

4. Review financials to guarantee accuracy before proceeding with tax preparation

5. Prepare and/or review individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local tax laws

6. Resolve IRS/State tax notices in an accurate and timely fashion.

7. Assist in tax planning and  payment of clients quarterly estimated taxes

8. Training and mentoring of staff

9. Work independently, with minimal supervision

11. Help to improve the company’s workflow by using the software and technologies available in a proficient manner
