This is a remote position

The Sr. Director of Software Engineering will be able to support and impact AAPC’s development team by providing mentorship, career development, and technical leadership in collaboration with the CTO. With a strong focus on people, technology, and the business, this person will enable our teams to move quicker by focusing on executing our overall strategy and product delivery process. This position will also offer the chance to work in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment where innovative ideas are encouraged and collaboration is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Collaborate closely with Customers, Product, and other internal teams to define and deliver solutions to our customers' challenges.
  • Draw from your technical experience and help your engineering team(s) develop the most efficient technical design to solve our customers' challenges.
  • Split your time between overseeing process improvement and risk mitigation and guiding project vision across teams working on a specific project based on where your skills have the most significant impact.
  • Responsible for developing, measuring, and managing key metrics for your group's performance.
  • Decompose complex problems into straightforward solutions.
  • Adapt your approach to meet the needs of the team or product.
  • Build up team dynamics and develop individuals through coaching and mentorship.
  • Build, mentor, and grow our teams as a part of our Software Engineering leadership team.

Qualifications:
 
  • 5+ years experience leading an engineering team.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing.
  • Experience in defining and deploying the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proven ability to drive a shift left culture across the whole SDLC.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and execute a business strategy.
  • Thorough understanding of technical principles, concepts, and patterns.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach identifying opportunities and solutions.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and work collaboratively with internal and external teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing an existing team into a high-performing team, hiring where necessary.
  • Strong leadership skills, works fast, and works well with others.
  • Detailed-oriented, dependable, and has a positive attitude.
  • Experience working with offshore teams.
