The N.I.C.E. 's mission is to reimagine public education by assuring that everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic status, reaches their full potential and to cultivate a safe and peaceful learning environment in partnership with the school and community.

N.I.C.E. is an innovative social and emotional support program that integrates school curricula with community-building and restorative practices to support academic achievement and mitigate incidents of school violence. N.I.C.E. Team members do community-building circles in classes, provide one-to-one support sessions and mediations with students and teachers, provide restorative support to administrators, and assist the entire school community in building relationships.

We are looking for two successful candidates to provide student support, establish effective classroom behavior, and model skills to maintain positive relationships with the school and community. To help students increase accessibility to tools promoting skill acquisition for coping, self-regulating, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Monitors and models evidence/research-based behavior intervention strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • First Responder for crisis situations

  • Implement all components of the N.I.C.E. program (Social Emotional Learning), Interventions (conflict resolution), restorative justice, and restorative practice, all during the day and after school sessions.

  • Provide students individual and/or group support in programming, attendance, college readiness, and crisis intervention when necessary.

  • Design, develop, and conduct multiple forms of circles in classrooms for grades 9-12th.

  • Conduct meditations and other forms of interventions with students in the building.

  • Engage students, faculty, and the community through culture-enhancing school events.

  • Consistently document services and interactions on Google Drive.

  • Represent the N.I.C.E. team at various events in the school and community.

  • Collaborate with teachers on classroom and behavioral management.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development internally and externally.

  • Actively participate in ongoing NICE staff meetings for continuous improvement ,celebration, monitoring.

  • Work with the evaluation team to collect impact and replication data.
