As a Pennsy Digital Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our hardware products and the applications they enable. You'll provide technical expertise and support to both internal teams and external customers, ensuring successful integration and optimal performance of our hardware solutions and integrations. 

An application engineer’s day can vary wildly, but activities will include:  

  • Discussion and debate of technical, business, or marketing strategies 

  • Device/application pre-shipment testing, QA, and documentation 

  • Training field engineers on how to properly mount, calibrate, and integrate our devices 

  • Working with our firmware engineers to debug current firmware bugs or strategize on how/what to build in the future.  

  • Working with our partner platforms to integrate our data feeds into additional software tools or design software rules to facilitate additional analytics or alerts.  

  • Collaborate with other applications engineers and our supply chain contacts to assess equipment/device needs and timelines. 

  • Design and present demo presentations and application data sheets.  

  • Debug lost data packets between a gateway and a new customer cloud instance.  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. 

  • 2+ years of previous engineering or technical project / product management experience preferred. 

  • Understanding of product/solution design principles, systems engineering and integration a plus. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach. 

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, you can explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. 

  • Experience coordinating across remote (and international) teams. 

  • Experience communicating project status, needs, blockers, and requirements to stakeholders across an organization. 

  • Experience planning for, developing, and maintaining customer and/or partner relationships. 

  • Hands on Python skills and an interest in AI/ML a plus.
