What it's like to be a Jr. Machinist at SSDI

As a Jr. Machinist, you can expect to work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm in our La Mirada, CA facility.

Under the guidance of an experienced machinist, you will gain hands-on experience in machining techniques and processes. Your attention to detail and willingness to learn will be crucial in this role as you contribute to the manufacturing of state-of-the-art products.

Requirements for this Jr. Machinist job

To succeed as a Jr. Machinist at Solid State Devices, Inc in La Mirada, you must have 3-5 years of working experience as a CNC Machinist. Experience using end mill equipment is required. Tooling, jigs & fixtures, operating a manual lathe and drill press will be essential in this role.

You will assist the Manufacturing & Engineering Departments in meeting their daily and monthly goals by providing machine shop services and tooling support. Understanding the daily, weekly, and monthly needs of the machine shop is crucial. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly shop while ensuring strict adherence to safety rules.

Additionally, owning basic tools is a requirement for this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Requires 3-5 years working experience as CNC Machinist
• Tooling
• Jigs & Fixtures
• Manual Lathe & End Mill Equipment
• Drill Press
• Assist the Manufacturing & Engineering Departments in meeting their daily and monthly goals by supplying Machine Shop services and Tooling
• Responsible for understanding daily, weekly and monthly needs of the Machine Shop
• Make sure that the shop is kept clean & orderly and that all safety rules are adhered to
• MUST HAVE BASIC TOOLS OF YOUR OWN
